If you've stumbled onto this page, you may be trying to install Peachtree Complete Accounting 2010 onto a computer running Windows 10, and are having trouble with registration. My experience may be helpful in this regard.
I had Peachtree 2010 running nicely under Windows 7, but when I switched to a new computer running Windows 10 I couldn't get the Peachtree registration info to stick. Every time I launched Peachtree it told me that it was unregistered and I only had x numbers of unregistered uses left. I'd enter the registration info that I had saved from my original install on the old machine, but it wouldn't get saved for some reason.
What finally worked for me was to launch Regedit and navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Peachtree\Peachtree Complete Accounting\17\
(Note that mucking about in the Windows registry can have unpleasant consequences if you don't take reasonable care. I recommend doing a little research before attempting this if you're not already comfortable with registry modifications.)
One of the subkeys is Licenses, and that subkey contains 4 subkeys of its own:
The only one that showed a value was SerialNum0, which had my Peachtree serial number as the value. I had saved my customer ID and activation code from the initial activation on the Windows 7 machine, so I loaded my customer ID into the CustomerID0 key and my activation code into the RegistrationNum0 key. I then rebooted the computer, launched Peachtree, and successfully logged in without any registration warnings. It's been working smoothly ever since.
