Women Gain Business Skills During Motherhood. Why would I wish to highlight such a subject? As I matured, I became an ever-stronger Feminist. To solidify this position, my 31-year marriage to Prof. Lenora Timm, would have made it impossible To continue any relationship or be anything else! Consider how differently European countries treat women. That alone is enough to raise important questions. Women returning to the workplace from maternity leave, Often feel a greater ability in leadership skills: Communication, scheduling, conflict management, Resource allocation, negotiation, and prioritization. 'Motherhood is a major life transition and Developmental experience for women.' Surprisingly, resilience, empathy, and team leadership Did increase, but not as much as the above. Companies pay large salaries to develop these leadership skills. One woman was quoted, "Oh yeah, negotiation. I could do that with my eyes closed." And, "Oh yeah, I am better at time management After becoming a mom." It is recognized that women who leave to have children, Return with increased management skills. It must, however, be increasingly recognized and nurtured. Women reported that a flexible work place would be, "The single greatest impact for long-term work sustainability." From my experience, we have catching up to do With our European neighbors.
